Red Beard Wall is a hard-rocking band that creates some heavy yet emotional music. Lead singer, guitarist and main songwriter Aaron Wall writes from his heart, puts everything he has into his music and it shows. I’m drawn to slower calmer music like REZN recently but, Red Beard Walls infectious riffs have made it impossible not to enjoy. Aaron’s reputation precedes him. I heard about how nice and cool he was before I had the privilege to experience that myself. He was definitely both those things! It was less of an interview and more like two friends discussing their love and passion for music.
So many times I get excited when I see a band that I like announcing a tour, only to check all the dates and find out they are making the usual big giant circle around Oklahoma. It happens with bands both big and small, and is one of the many drawbacks of living here, making me miss many cool acts. Texas is obviously the big draw state with others like Kansas, New Mexico, and Arkansas pulling in respectable names and numbers. Oklahoma is usually left out for one reason or another.
Sludge/Stoner Metallers Red Beard Wall return after a five year absence and I thought the band had called it quits ages ago as things have been fairly quiet from the band. However, the band are back with this two track EP called FTW which sees Aaron flying solo this time and venting his pissed off aggression at the current state of the world and perhaps with their most politically charged and pissed off release to date. FTW only contains two tracks but there’;s a mixture of pounding Sludge, Doom, Stoner, Noise and Noise Rock sounds that Red Beard Wall made their name with.

FC: What inspired you to make music?
RBW: Honestly it's just who i am. I didn't choose music, music chose me. I've been thinking about, and loving music ever since my brain could register. I just don't remember a time that it wasn't at the forefront of my heart and mind. It's everything to me. My whole life.
Red Beard Wall- 3 (Review)
The Red Beard Wall experience has been--and always will be, I suspect--a deliberately jarring one, even for those who know to expect the immeasurable enthusiasm and bombast on display. This project's modus operandi is one of gloriously violent dynamics: every track is a sonic gladiatorial extravaganza. Unhinged screams, post-hardcore cleans, bouncy percussion, 90's-style alternative aggression, and thicc-ass sludgy stoner riffs meet head-on in the arena. However, rather than unleashing their pugilistic wrath upon each other, they somehow harness their unharness-able collective power, subsequently raining blood and thunder on the audience. Frankly, it's quite the sight to behold.

Texas sludge band Red Beard Wall today reveals a self-titled album, due out in CD / DD formats via Argonauta Records on May 12th, 2017. The first single "Bottom of a Well" is now online and can be heard below, while pre-orders have come online at this location.
